Audio video installation, 2015.
Two projections separating in two walls in corner, 2 video players and 2 audio system.
Al Shazly’s video installation shows the relation between two different contexts. The first is about resistance which is the result of human’s action as B.F. Skinner said “Resistance is a human reaction to another human action “and the second is about dependency and non-resistance.
Through the space between the two is the meeting point of resistance and non-resistance, and the whole speaks of frustration. The active aggressor is in combat with a passive enemy, confined within her frame. The calm blues of the ocean feel thwarted too; the bubbling soundtrack continuous despite the assault adjacent.
